Healed

Hi -

I've lived with a condition for years. When it first developed, it profoundly grieved me . . . but over the years, I've learned that the best healings can be healings of the spirit in acceptance that Almighty GOD knows best. He has reasons for why He allows continuances.

I've settled in my spirit that the joy of the Lord is my strength. I NOW live that truth -- not just in my head but in the core of my heart. I'm FULLY persuaded that I'm set in the Master's hands -- regardless.

We know that song, "In the Garden". He walks with me. He talks with me. He tells me that I am His own. I've come to learn and to understand that, "Whatever it is, it's not bigger than GOD!"

I'd rather have the company of the Lord than healing of my condition. Yes, I choose Jesus -- the Word of Life. His love and blessed assurances sustain and provide me with peace -- multiplied.  Nothing and nobody provides such love, solace, peace and joy.

Nope, ain't NOTHING better than to walk with the Light of the Word -- King Jesus -- no matter what . . . !

GOD reigns anyhow. In His presence there is fulness of joy -- at His right hand there are pleasures for ever more - so says the scripture in Psalm 16. And I'm a living witness, as are others who journey with our precious Lord!

 Philippians 4:11 - KJV
. . . I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.

###

It is well with my soul.

Witness

Hi -

Scriptures are from the King James Holy Bible.

When all is thought, said, and done, GOD bears witness.

1 John 5:9
If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: . . .

###

Examples:

I was in a government building the other day and I said something that was out of order as I stood in line. A stranger behind me said to me, "You're messing up." The Spirit of GOD within me agreed with that stranger. What did I respond to the stranger? I replied, "Forgive me for messing up."

On another day, this woman customer in line behind me in the grocery store stepped wrong against me. In Holy Ghost mode, I "checked" her misconduct. The cashier said to me that I was rude to the woman. The Holy Ghost in me bore witness that I WASN'T rude but said what was necessary to the woman customer. I let the cashier know that I was correct . . . and I didn't utter any form of apology to the subject woman customer.

Yes, I love -- but love ain't no wimp . . .

Hebrews 11:4
. . . by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying . . .

Hebrews 11:5
. . . he had this testimony, that he pleased God.

Thankful

Hi -

Christ dwelling, authentically born-again Christians are to be thankful, regardless.

We sometimes desire what isn't GOD's will for us now -- perhaps it'll be His will later . . . We are to be thankful, anyhow. Things may not be ideal for us but GOD tells us to be thankful.

Thank GOD that He is the Most High and that He is love. Thank GOD for the present situations. Thank Him for HIS choices for our lives. Thank Him that He ALWAYS knows best. Thank GOD that He doesn't allow more in our lives than we can bear.Thank GOD that He alone KNOWS the fulness of ALL. He governs the FULNESS OF TIMES.

Jesus is to be thanked for His love -- death, burial and resurrection.  The Holy Spirit is teacher and comforter.  Yes, be thankful.  Thank GOD for His beloved Son, Jesus and for the power of the Holy Ghost.  Yes, thanksgiving is in order.

Ephesians 5:20
Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Thessalonians 5:18
In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

We are to do the best that we know -- steadfastly abide in GOD/JESUS/HOLY SPIRIT -- and be LOVING and THANKFUL -- anyhow.

###

And some folks who are clinging to toxic relationships -- it could be time to be thankful to know that NOW IS THE TIME to forsake them. Love and leave . . .

Michael, the Archangel, said to the devil, "The Lord Rebuke Thee."

Hi -

Scriptures are from the King James Bible.

The other day on Facebook, someone posted a topic that some minister had mentioned, “Let’s give the devil a massive STROKE!! ”  On that someone’s topic post about that minister’s expression, the subsequent Facebook thread comments expressed about the error of railing against the devil.  Two people came on and were thankful to learn that railing against Satan and devils is wrong.  Then this morning on Facebook, I saw a post from someone who expressed to the devil to get his filthy hands off . . .  That person is unaware of the error in such expressions.  It concerned me enough to post this here this morning.  Also, I’ll include some of what I commented on the Facebook post that I read days ago.

###

Satan is GOD's creation and Satan is the god of this world and has some dominion.  Of course, the dominion of GOD surpasses ALL, but the Lord allows Satan to have measures of power until . . .

The role of authentically born-again Christians is to steadfastly abide in GOD, resist the devil and he will flee.  Also, we are charged by GOD to keep on the whole armor of GOD - Ephesians 6.

No, Christ-dwelling people are NOT to fear Satan but we are to remain mindful that he's GOD's creation and thus has a role according to the agenda of GOD.

###

The content of the video -- see link at the end of this piece -- is more evidence of the ignorance that is in some religious folks.  None of us has all truth and we need to help one another . . .

As I watched that youtube video, "Pastor Kills the Devil with his hush puppies?", my heart grieved at the ignorance in those folks . . . It likely grieves GOD, as well. His Word says that His people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.

When we gain more truths from our Lord, we've got to be mindful to help others out of error. That’s what GOD expects.

It grieves more when folks stubbornly dig in their heels and refuse to accept correction given in love.  They do themselves a disservice and worse . . .

###

I used to fuss at the devil, speak angrily to him, rail at him by stomping and shouting at him in opposition.  Yep, I did those things UNTIL GOD revealed to me that that is NOT right.  Jude 9 says, “Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.”

###

I’ve heard people say things to Satan like, “I send you back to the pit where you came from . . .”  My response: GOD’s people nor Satan's people can do that.  There's NOTHING in scripture to support it.

Admittedly, I don’t have sufficient knowledge about casting out devils but I do KNOW that only AUTHENTICALLY BORN-AGAIN people can cast out devils.  There are religious folks who falsely believe that they’re born-again but they TRULY haven’t been drawn by GOD, which means that they’re NOT saved.  Authentically born-again people understand the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the beloved Son of GOD.  GOD draws and leads His people to repentance -- with godly sorrow. . .

Jesus says in John 6:44, “No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: . . .”

###

Casting out devils isn't railing . . .  Truly born-again people can cast out devils but otherwise should be mindful NOT to rail against and talk in belligerence, etc. to Satan and devils.

I’m NOT convinced that all born-again folks are assigned to cast out devils.  I could be wrong -- again, admittedly, I don’t have sufficient knowledge about casting out devils.  But I do KNOW that it’s WRONG to rail against Satan and to speak to him and devils in insulting and belligerent ways -- outside of the realm of casting out devils.  Such conduct is of the flesh rather than of the Spirit of the living GOD.

Perhaps some truly born-again people aren’t yet spiritually mature enough to engage in casting out devils and it could be that later they will be equipped to -- in the name of Jesus Christ, the Son of the living GOD -- effectively cast out devils.

AUTHENTICALLY BORN-AGAIN folks that cast out devils in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth can certainly be authorized by the Lord -- but there needs to be CERTAINTY that the Lord authorizes . . .

Remember what happened in the book of Acts when UNAUTHORIZED folks aimed to cast out evil spirits.

The Acts 19:15, 16
And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?

And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.

###

Please, if you’re railing against Satan and devils -- cease -- for that is NOT GOD’s way.

Potted Plants

Photo - Copyright 2014 - S. Hicks
Hi -

What happens to plants left in pots that are ill-fitting?  For healthy growth -- plants need to be re-potted in pots that are proportionate to their sizes.  How many times have we received signals that we need to be re-potted in fresh soil in pots that fit our new growth?  How often do we linger in pots that have become unsuitable for us?  It’s in our best interest to recognize the signs and to go with the new growth grooves.  We need to be aware NOT to rot in pots.

It benefits to be mindful that it can also be unhealthy to leave the pots in which we haven’t reached sufficient growth.  We should learn and know our pot status and adjust accordingly.

GOD is the potter -- without Him, we can do nothing.  When the potter draws us -- and we steadfastly abide in Him, His beloved Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit -- TRULY, we are planted in good soil.

Let us aim to bear fruit and more fruit in order to effectively share the gospel of the kingdom of GOD for others to learn pure truths in the name of Jesus Christ, the Branch of righteousness.

Gain from Rejections

Photo - Copyright 2014 - S. Hicks
Hi -

All rejection isn't a minus -- some rejections are sure in the plus columns.

We can certainly gain from rejections.  Key is why we're being rejected.  If we're wrong -- than of course, we should amend our positions and opt for correct actions.

If we're right, we should be pleased to benefit from rejections.  Yes, we learn from them and certainly our gains multiply where it REALLY matters . . .

###

Acceptance is a joy and pleasure when the vital pieces are in order . . .  It isn't reasonable to choose acceptance above what is loving, honest, sensible, and wise.  Steadfastly DOING truth gains the best rewards!
