The Apocrypha, etc.

The question on the floor is . . .

This post is inspired by Kenneth Watkins II. For those who don't believe that the Apocrypha is of the Lord, how do you explain that Joshua 10:13 - KJV and 2 Samuel 1:18 - KJV mention the Book of Jasher, which is considered one of the books of the Apocrypha?

Also, I became aware today, thanks to Robert, of the following:

Exodus 24:7 - KJV
Book of the Covenent

Numbers 21:14 - KJV
Book of the Wars of the Lord

1 Samuel 10:25 - KJV
The Manner of the Kingdom

1 Chronicles 29:29 - KJV
Book of Nathan
Book of Gad

None of the content of the above mentioned books is contained in the 66 books of the Bible. Yet they are mentioned IN SCRIPTURES as existing . . .

Proof That the Pastoral Office of the Modern Church Isn't Biblical

Hi -

There are folks who are quick to disagree with truths with no legitimate basis for their unbeliefs.  We all have areas of ignorance.  Certainly, it's in our best interest to seek the Lord, in earnest, as to whether what has been expressed is indeed truth.  It can be a disservice to spiritual maturity to outright dismiss what we haven't sought the Lord about -- as well as researched and examined.

Frank Coleman gave his permission for me to post the following that he expressed:

"I speak as a former "associate pastor" there are precious few authentic ministers of the Gospel in operation today. The counterfeit far outweighs the authentic. When a ministry takes in $50 million annually in tithes and offerings and spends less than 10% of that on helping people there's aomething wrong there. Sad it's a minority instead of the standard.

Do Some "Ministers" Idolize Israel?

Hi -

Scriptures are from the King James Bible.

Have some "ministers" placed Israel on a pedestal?  Is undue honor being given to the nation of Israel as it exists today?  Yesterday, I read an excellent piece that shed some insight that altered my beliefs about current day Israel.  If you're so inclined, here's the link to the subject article titled, "Kiss the Son - Not Israel" http://www.searchingtogether.org/blog/kiss-the-son-not-israel-2/

Romans 9:6-8
Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect.  For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel:

Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but in Isaac shall thy seed be called.

That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.

Romans 9:27
Esaias also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved.

Galatians 6:15, 16
For in Christ Jesus neither is circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.

The present day nation of Israel has no special "status" given them by the Lord.  Being a new creature in Christ Jesus is what pleases the Lord.

2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth

The Lord is to be lifted up -- not Israel -- or anything or anyone -- above the Lord.
