Freedom Journey

This blog was created on Saturday March 22, 2014, and is geared to folks whose steadfast aim is freedom through learning, teaching and DOING truth. Incorrect beliefs can prevent constructive forward motions. We cannot afford to allow ignorance, pride and stubbornness to keep us deceived.

Refuse to be prisoners of your perceptions. Cast away nonsense traditions. Freedom resides in authentic and proven truths.

REAL truth is freedom!

Homosexuals Intolerance of Us

Hi -

First of all, many heterosexual folks are getting tired of some of the homosexual folks major complaining because we disagree with their lifestyle. They promote their rights to be homosexual and get upset because we assert our rights to disagree.

I don't hate homosexuals but I do disagree with their lifestyle. That’s my belief and I firmly adhere to it just like they firmly adhere to their beliefs.

In no way do I support bashing homosexuals or bullying them nor do I support them doing it to us. Ain't nothing wrong with disagreements as long as they are lawful and don't abuse people.

And yes, I firmly believe in loving people of ALL cultures, races, and persuasions -- but loving doesn't ALWAYS mean agreement.

Many homosexuals call us anti gay and homophobic but what about them being anti heterosexual and anti folks that don't believe in homosexuality?

They want us to be more tolerant but many of them are intolerant of us holding firm to our beliefs to be against same sex sexual relationships and same sex marriage.

They need to practice what they expect - tolerance!

Why Is That a Sin?

Hi -

Some may wonder why some Christians don’t watch horror movies and some do.  I know of a  Christian who views horror movies.  Years ago, our Lord told me NOT to watch horror movies, so for me, it is sin.  Why don’t some Christians attend certain “clean” events while others freely go?  Why do some Christians drink wine and others don’t indulge in alcohol consumption?  One main answer is -- if the Holy Spirit tells us NOT to do WHATEVER and we do it anyway, it is sin.

I don’t drink alcohol or wine.  Actually, when I was in the world, I wasn’t a liquor drinker -- only partook a few times -- did wine and beer a bit more but not
much . . .  I’ve learned to be better tuned to the will of the Lord.  Do I sometimes miss the mark?  Yes, of course -- we all do -- but more and more I miss it less because the Holy Spirit’s conviction and rebuke grieves me deeply.  My sins grieve God and when He’s grieved, my spirit aches.  Yes, our sins deeply grieve our Lord and when we abide in Him, we desire to steadfastly please Him.

Years ago, a particular lesson taught me to obey our Lord, regardless of who is involved.  One Saturday, our Lord told me to stay home to commune with Him.  Well, my close Christian friend called and invited me to go out with her and to spend some time at her house.  I rationalized it and thought something like, “She’s a strong Christian.  What could be wrong with going out with her and spending time at her home?” Our Lord had already told me to stay in to commune with Him.  Long story short . . . I disobeyed . . . and while she and I were out, our Lord allowed something to occur that hurt my heart deeply.  As soon as it happened, our Lord told me that He allowed it because He’d told me to stay home to commune with Him.  I quickly repented and became more mindful to obey our Lord.

Yes, the Holy Bible tells us what is sin . . . but also the Holy Spirit tells us what is sin.  Woe to us if we disobey, especially as the time gets shorter . . .

The Acts 16: 6 - . . . forbidden of the Holy Ghost . . .

The Acts 16: 7 - . . . but the Spirit suffered them not.

The Acts 5:29 - Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.

Anointed without Holiness

Hi -

Scriptures are from the King James Holy Bible.

First of all, it needs to be certainly clear that, in human form, there is nothing better than a holy anointing from the Most High GOD.  When holy anointing is in place, power and glory flows and the impact is hugely potent.  On this earth, the highest realm is the glory realm.  People in the glory realm glow with shines representative of intimacy with GOD.  Exodus 34:30, “And when Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone; . . .”

The holy anointing cannot be faked.  The only way to steadfastly flow in it is to totally abide in and dwell in GOD.  Glory realm power comes from consistent investment in the Lord and being deeply purposed to heed His Words and the leading of His Spirit.  When we diligently seek the Lord, we mature in Him.  GOD is the Mastermind, the Master Planner and the Master Builder.  We should aim, in earnest, to keep ourselves rooted and grounded in our Lord.  Good success is the certain result, according to the Holy Scriptures.  Joshua 1:8 is an excellent reference for that truth.

Glory realm dwellers have intense love, power, and discernment.  People in that realm can often recognize the counterfeit.  Hebrews 5:14, “But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.”   Evil spirits know us.  The Acts 19:15, “And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; . . .”

Yes, there can be anointing without holiness.  There’s a major difference between holy anointed people and unholy anointed people.  Unholy anointed leaders/people can indeed be used by GOD.  What unholy anointed people don’t have is intimacy with GOD.  They have, for the most part, GOD as an acquaintance.  Intimacy is a vital ingredient in order to have friendship with GOD.  Holy anointing is reserved for those who have steadfast intimacy with our Lord.

GOD can anoint anyone to accomplish what He needs done for the advancement of His kingdom.  In the book of Isaiah, it tells that GOD anointed a heathen king, Cyrus - Isaiah 45:1-4.  The Lord said to Cyrus that He’d anointed him even “. . . though thou hast not known me.”  Nope, Cyrus didn’t even know GOD -- yet in Isaiah 45:1, the Lord called Cyrus “his anointed.”  Cyrus was indeed anointed but certainly not holy because he didn’t know God . . .

GOD told Pharaoh that he’d raised him up - Exodus 9:16.  GOD hardened Pharaoh’s heart for GOD’s purposes.  He used Pharaoh’s hardness . . . for an appointed time, then judgment came mightily against Pharaoh.

Years ago, when I worked in government, it was obvious to others that I had a relationship with our Lord. A woman who worked in the building with me had some business engagements with me, as our offices had needs to work together.

The subject woman came to me one day and stated that she’d been sleeping with her pastor but that she no longer desired to do so.  She stated that he kept pressuring her and she desired that he stop.  I asked her if she’d been to the church leadership about the issue. She stated yes but that they weren’t inclined to deal with it.  She asked me to help her.

I don’t recall if she offered me the pastor’s phone number to call him or if our Lord told me to ask her for the phone number.  Anyhow, I got the number from her and phoned the pastor that evening.  He was belligerent in his denial, and hung up on me.  When I phoned back, he didn’t answer.

Less than two weeks later, I spoke to my dear Christian mentor.  She told me that she’d attended a wake for a murdered pastor.  I asked her his name.  She told me.  It was the same pastor who’d been sleeping with the woman on my job.  My mentor and I were tripped out!

Was the said pastor anointed?  Likely, yes, but at the appointed time, GOD allowed him to be murdered because he ceased to stop his iniquity.  Anointed with consequences . . .

Samuel told King Saul in 1 Samuel 15:28, “. . . The Lord hath rent the kingdom of Israel from thee this day, and hath given it to a neighbour of thine, that is better than thou.”  Yet, afterwards, the Lord rebuked David when he cut off Saul’s skirt. 1 Samuel 24:5, “And it came to pass afterward, that David’s heart smote him, because he had cut off Saul’s skirt.”  And later David said about Saul in 1 Samuel 26:23, “. . . I would not stretch forth mine hand against the Lord’s anointed.”

People can forsake holy anointing through steadfast iniquity.  Yes, we all sin and come short of GOD’s glory but lifestyle sinning isn’t the same.  There are judgments from GOD when we practice disobedience against Him.  Steadfast rebellion against GOD costs with unpleasant consequences.  David was anointed but judged/punished by GOD.  Samson was anointed but judged/punished by GOD.  Moses was anointed but not allowed into the promised land.

Psalm 66:18 - If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me:

Revelation 2:5 - Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.

Samson lost his holy anointing, I believe, as mentioned in this passage: Judges 16:20, “And he wist not that the Lord was departed from him.”  And then later when Samson prayed to the Lord, GOD anointed him with supernatural strength to bring down the pillars that fell and killed Samson and the folks that GOD destined to perish.  Samson killed more people at his death than in his life - Judges 16:29, 30.

In 1 Samuel 28:15, Saul said to Samuel, “ . . . God is departed from me, and answereth me no more, neither by prophets, nor by dreams: . . .”

We walk in GOD’s holy anointed form when we abide in and dwell in Him by doing the best that we know how to totally follow, trust and obey Him.  GOD knows the depths of all hearts.  He has expectations of us all.  We need to seek Him for what His expectations are of us as individuals and as a collective body of Christ.

We learn more of GOD through spending quality time with Him in prayer, in His Holy Bible and with praise and worship actions.  GOD is a spirit and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth.  Our Lord delights in such sincerity and diligence.  He has no greater joy than to hear that His children walk in truth - 3 John 4.

To Roar or Not to Roar

Hi -

Scriptures are from the King James Holy Bible.

Proverbs 30:30 says about the lion, "A lion which is strongest among beasts, and turneth not away for any;"

###

Lions don't need to roar -- their mere presence speaks volumes. Yes, lions do roar but they aren't always in roar formation -- yet their presence and attitudes reveal who they are . . . no pomp and circumstance -- no showboating -- they are who they are . . . as designed and AUTHORIZED -- by GOD.

Similar applies to Christ-dwelling folks who steadfastly aim to perfect holiness - 2 Corinthians 7:1.

###

My firm belief is that true worshippers of the Lord are to have lion and lamb attributes. The Lord has engineered me MORE in lion mode so I'm in my element about that jungle "fever." But I'm mindful that I'm to operate in lamb mode, as well.

A close friend of mine indeed loves the Lord but He has engineered her MORE in lamb mode. She's a registered nurse by profession so her job is fitting to her personality. She does, on occasion, resort to lion mode. I wouldn't want a nurse who was MOSTLY in lion mode.

Jesus is the example. We read in the Holy Bible that He exercised lamb attributes and lion attributes. He was in Lion mode when He cast out folks, overthrew tables and seats when they were dishonoring GOD by selling/buying in the temple - Matthew 21:12.

Whatever our PRIMARY modes, demonstrated love is vital to please the Lord.

Tamara expressed:

In the Body of Christ, AUTHORITY comes from God, NOT man! When the Pharisees asked Christ who gave Him authority to drive the merchants out of the Temple, because they couldn't answer his question about John's baptism, He didn't answer their question. He knew they were trying to trip Him up, as they probably felt He was undermining their "authority". Many do the very same thing today, they will quickly claim authority, however when you FUNCTION in authority, they question you. Now here is something that you may want to take note of. Because the Pharisees didn't want to believe who Christ was, they recognized, but didn't recognize His GOD GIVEN authority.

With that being said, because Christ knew He WAS the AUTHORITY, He didn't allow them to push Him in a corner. I admonish you today to NEVER allow anyone to make you feel that you have no authority, because all who are in Christ, have AUTHORITY! Although we function different, it is the same AUTHORITY and it comes from ONE place......GOD! There is no need to flaunt titles to show authority, that is what pride causes one to do. And the truth of the matter is that 9 times out of 10, they AINT GOT no darn authority, other than what they have given themselves, or some other mere mortal has told them they have.

IF YOU are indwelled with the Holy Spirit, YOU are AUTHORIZED by God, to Preach the Gospel of salvation to those who never heard, as a matter of fact, be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage, with great patience and careful instruction(discipleship) YOU are authorized by God, to gather with other believers and exhort, encourage and remind of the second coming of Christ, WHEREEVER AND WHENEVER YOU so desire. YOU are authorized by God, to correct ANY believer who is in error(in love of course) YOU are NOT authorized to control others!

Walk in YOUR God given authority, it looks good on you! Remember where it comes from!

Scripture Inspired by GOD

Hi -

This link leads to a penetrating Facebook post and subsequent comments about the apostle Paul's writings and the topic of what scripture means when expressing, "inspired by GOD."
